Sales History and Outlook Report (SHOR)

The 2Q19 Sales History & Outlook Report (SHOR) released by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) indicates the PTDA Distributors Index is in Phase C, slowing growth trend. Business cycle decline is likely in at least late 2019 and in the first half of 2020. The Distributor Index came in 0.5 percent above the range of the prior, year-old forecast. ITR Economics revised the forecast to reflect stronger-than-anticipated recent results and the latest trending indicator evidence. Expect slowing growth to give way to mild decline during a portion of next year.
