Registration List (Final)
The PTDA 2016 Industry Summit brought together 750 participants, including nearly 590 delegates from the power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry, representing 12 countries, to San Diego, Calif., to network, build relationships, collaborate and learn to Lead in Disruptive Times.
The crowning centerpiece of the PTDA Industry Summit is MD-IDEX, PTDA’s signature fast-networking session. The 2016 MD-IDEX session generated 612 scheduled meetings, not counting the hundreds of unscheduled and informal meetings that occurred during the four-hour session and during the few days of the conference at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.
PTDA members can download the final registration list (see above) to continue to build relationships with those they met and worked with during the meetings.
In addition to networking, the business of the Association was conducted during the conference with the election of a new Board of Directors and Manufacturer Council. Hundreds of volunteers were thanked and outgoing leaders were recognized for their contributions to the Association and the industry, including the presentation of the prestigious Warren Pike Award to Keith Nowak, president, MPT Drives, Inc.
The PTDA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization with separate leadership from PTDA, also got involved. Over $61,000 was raised to kick off the PTDA Foundation Vanguard Campaign. Outgoing leaders were recognized and thanked for their contributions to the Foundation. Linda Miller, vice president IT & HR, B & D Industrial, received the Wendy B. McDonald Award from the PTDA Foundation. The Milton B. Schott, Jr. Memorial Open golf tournament raised funds for the work of the PTDA Foundation.
The spouse/companion 5K walk along with donations from delegates generated a $3,225 donation to the San Diego-based Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.
The continuation of the IML Talks and Deeper Dives was met with positive enthusiasm. The educational component of the Industry Summit is an important element, and this year included some exciting presentations:
The closing keynote featured Dr. Alan Beaulieu, ITR Economics, who provided specific management objectives and accompanying recommendations to guide PTDA members through the next few years.
To celebrate a successful few days in San Diego, participants were treated to a closing event at the San Diego Zoo featuring exotic species up-close and personal.
