How well would a high pressure car or insurance salesperson do in our long-term relationship driven business? It isn't a hard question. Successful sales reps in distribution require a different set of skills and talents to win. One of the most critical is being able to earn trust with customers.
This webinar examines what makes a distribution sales rep different from other versions of field sales. From a best practices perspective there is a defined set of skills and habits that are critical to success.

After defining the role, this session will examine how to recruit long-term winners with real talent. The focus will be on the how-to skills of recruiting for this specialized role keeping in mind the best candidate may not be who you think it is. If it was easy everyone would have top performing sales reps.

Presenter Mike Marks is the co-founder of Indian River Consulting Group (IRCG). He began his consultuing practice after working in distribution management for more than 20 years. Prior to forming IRCG, Mike held the position of Executive Vice President at Lex Electronics, an $800 million vertically integrated electronics distributor in Stamford, CT. Mike's path to management in his early career was through increasing responsibilities in sales and sales management. He also completed a tour of duty as a manufacturer's representative and serves as permanent faculty at Purdue University's University of Industrial Distribution.
