A
Walk in the Desert: Benefitting Susan G. Komen for the
Cure®
Friday, October 22
8:00 to 9:00 a.m. (walk)
9:00 to 10:00 a.m. (breakfast)
Event registration fee: US$70 (includes walk and
breakfast); US$45 (breakfast only)
Do something good for yourself and for a good cause! Go for a
walk through the Palmer Signature Golf Course at Wildfire Golf Club in
support of a cure for breast cancer. This course is closed for
play this time of year, but will be used exclusively as the route for
the walk. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month; $25 of the
US$70 registration fee will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the
Cure® Phoenix affiliate. We'll provide water
and a visor to shade the Arizona sun as you stroll 5K (3.1 miles) in the
desert. Afterwards, it's a come-as-you-are breakfast where you'll
have a chance to hear more about the amazing work being done by Susan G.
Komen for the Cure® as well as meet up with old and
new friends. Participants are encouraged to solicit additional
donations (payable to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®) in
support of this very worthy cause.

being offered through Hello Arizona! All tours require advance
registration; on-site registration will be limited. To register
for the tours, click here for online registration or complete
the separate tour registration form and mail or fax it with
your payment directly to Hello Arizona! by October 15, 2010.
Because guarantees are based on advance ticket sales, no refunds or
exchanges will be made once tours are confirmed. Hello Arizona!
reserves the right to cancel tours and refund the tickets if the minimum
number of tickets is not sold by the deadline.
Horseback
Riding: Saddle Up
Thursday, October 21

There is but one way to experience the serenity
and beauty of the amazing Arizona landscape -- on horseback. Hop in the saddle, and ride into the heart of the
majestic Sonoran Desert. Steep, mountain
walls stand off in the distance against the desert sky, offering a
watercolor backdrop to this awesome setting. It is a surreal journey through one of the scenic jewels
of the desert southwest.
Friendly horses, and knowledgeable trail bosses
will lead your group through the trails all the while explaining the
history of the Sonoran desert and all the is found within it. So, saddle
up and get back to the real Old West!
Notes: Casual, comfortable clothing, hiking
boots, closed-toed shoes or sneakers are recommended for this
tour. Hello Arizona! reserve the right to refuse guest participation if the
proper footwear is not worn. Smoking
is not permitted, children under 7 are not permitted. Weight limit of 250 pounds.
Hands-on
and Demonstration Cooking Class at Vincent's
Thursday, October 21

Prepare one of the courses for lunch at Vincent's with two additional
courses being prepared right in front of your eyes! Chef Vincent
Guerithault, chef/owner, will briefly explain how to create the menu
item and then give individual instructions. Afterwards, enjoy your
lunch while Chef Vincent demonstrates the remaining menu items.
Tour includes round-trip transportation, cooking demonstration and
hands-on instruction by Chef Vincent, three-course lunch, tax and
gratuity, and recipes.
Vincent Guerithault, chef/owner of Vincent
Guerithault on Camelback, is considered by many to be Phoenix's culinary
prize. For more than 20 years,
Vincent has been combining his expertise in classic French cooking with
Southwestern ingredients to create a unique blend of flavors that has
become his signature. His style is
constantly evolving.
Guests will prepare hands-on one-two of the
courses for lunch at Vincent's with the other one or two by
demonstration. Chef Vincent will
briefly explain how to create the menu item, then he will walk around to
each table to give individual instructions. Each participant will be given the recipes from the
day's lesson.

in the world! The Hummer defies the
unexplored, leaves the crowds and masses behind, and gives participants
nothing but an unforgettable adventure in the Sonoran Desert.
Our guide will pick up your guests at the
resort and take them in the heart of the Tonto National
Forest. Experience the thrill as the
Hummer conquers the intense desert terrain while the guide discusses the
wildlife and plants that inhabit this majestic landscape.
There are no dead ends in a Hummer!
Notes: Guests must wear hiking boots, or tennis
shoes; absolutely no open toed shoes, sandals or flip
flops! Hummers are not
air-conditioned, and tour is not recommended for guests with back
conditions, heart problems, recent surgeries, or pregnant women,
regardless of trimester. Smoking is
not permitted. Due to Arizona's
open-container law, alcohol is not permitted.
