New for 2010,
the Product Showcase featured
table-top exhibits of the latest and greatest products from PTDA's
manufacturer members. Distributors had a chance to visit with
current and potential suppliers, and manufacturers showed off their
products in a relaxed, informal venue.

The reception on June 4th
took on a new twist as the spouses & companions worked together to
raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Paul Meo of NTN
Bearing Corp. of Canada Ltd. spurred even more donations by
agreeing to attend the reception dressed in pink. The total raised
was an incredible $6,500! Our
thanks to Paul, the spouses & companions and everyone who
donated.

Corporate planner Ryan Garrah
gave participants a framework for creating
innovation in their own companies. Recognizing that
being innovative is not innate to many executives, Garrah encouraged
attendees to adopt a process to solicit ideas from throughout their
companies, nurture those ideas with possibilities for growth and
profitability and monitor the success of the ideas.

Pierre
Marc Johnson, former premier of Québec, updated the
group on his perspectives as chief negotiator of the Québec
Government of Canada for European Union (EU) free trade
negotiations. With Canada's exports into the EU valued at nearly
C$30 billion and imports from the EU at C$45 billion, the EU is a major
trading partner for Canada.

An incredible story-teller with
a message that was right on target, Ken
Wong of Queen's Universityfocused his presentation on one
purpose-showing participants how "To detect...to destroy...to avoid
Margin-Sucking Maggots!"
