NEW: Product Showcase & Welcome Reception

You’ve asked for more opportunities to meet with current and potential channel partners in an informal format. In response, we’ve added a new component to the ever-popular Welcome Reception. The new Product Showcase features table-top exhibits of the latest and greatest products from PTDA’s manufacturer members. This ground-breaking event is a fantastic way to kick off your networking at the Canadian Conference!

If you’re a manufacturer interested in showing off your innovative products during the Product Showcase, download the reservation form at www.ptda.org/ProductShowcase or contact Erin Brown at PTDA at ebrown@ptda.org or +1.312.516.2100 to reserve your table. The deadline for submitting your reservation form and exhibit fee is April 15, 2010.

Industry Panel on Distribution Channel Efficiencies

One of PTDA’s five strategic goals is to champion manufacturers and distributors, operating in concert, to effectively and efficiently serve their mutual customers. This panel of some of the industry’s top executives will discuss the challenges and opportunities for improving the distributor/manufacturer-supplier relationship, concentrating on those factors that can improve the efficiency of the channel in serving the customer. What can distributors and manufacturers do together to streamline processes and reduce expenses in order to increase margins and profitability? What are the relationship issues that impact the trust that is so important in conducting business efficiently and effectively?

With topics ranging from inventory management to operational trends to transactional processes and formats, you can join in the discussion!  Faciliated by Don Latham, President & CEO of Belterra Corp. and past president of PTDA, this will be a highly interactive conversation with a healthy exchange of perspectives from members of the panel and from Canadian Conference participants.

Come join the discussion!

Panelists to date include:

For years, we have thought of sales as an "art form," where salespeople were expected to use their interpersonal skills to get the order. Now, the realization is dawning that we need to do a better job as managers to provide clear objectives and more tactical direction to help this to occur. In this program, Joe Ellers, author of The Sales Manager's Handbook and The Best Distribution Sales Book Ever, will give you all the tools you need to take your sales management efforts to the next level. Ellers will cover setting goals that drive the right activities, creating the value proposition, using six major tools of the sales management professional, compensating for what you (really) want and developing a sales process that is easy on the manager and really helps the salesperson.  Download Joe Ellers' biography.
