Industry Formats Overview

PTDA is dedicated to working with distributors and manufacturers to take cost out of the power transmission/motion control distribution channel.

The following association-developed formats are available at no charge to help industry participants increase the efficiency of the supply chain:

• Product and Price Information Format v. 2.1: Standardized ASCII tab-delimited format for electronic transmission of manufacturer price updates. 
• Cost of Goods Sold Data Transmission Format: Standardized ASCII tab-delimited format for distributor transmission of cost of goods sold (point-of-sale) information and tools for use by manufacturers and distributors in determining how much information should be shared, how the data should be provided from the distributor to the manufacturer and how the data will be used.
• Inventory Request and Response Format: Standardized XML format to automate stock checks, allowing distributors to electronically query manufacturers about product availability.
