Application Workshop.
A 2008 survey by Purchasing magazine revealed that only 21
percent of buyers rate their distributors as “excellent”
when it comes to technical support. Equip your sales and support
staff with the technical knowledge they need to bring value to your
customers. PTDA’s Product Application Workshop
allows your sales personnel to experience first-hand the application
basics of power transmission products.
Conducted in a classroom/hands-on lab environment with actual
products, this three-day workshop will give attendees an understanding
of the components utilized in typical industrial applications and
processes so they can better assess and solve customers'
problems.
What You’ll Learn
|

|
The workshop consists of two sessions covering mechanical products
and one session covering electrical products. Attendees will walk
away with skills that are directly applicable to their jobs and will
deliver an immediate return on your training investment through:
- Improving technical support to your customers.
- Assisting customers in designing processes that increase
productivity and uptime.
- Understanding how the components are utilized in typical industrial
applications.
- Assessing and solving customers' open-ended problems through an
applications process.

Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for employees with one-three years of
experience in the power transmission/motion control (PT/MC)
industry. The workshop is geared toward four positions:
current employees who have the potential of moving into sales, counter
sales staff, inside sales staff or outside sales staff/account managers
looking for a refresher.
Space is limited! The workshop can only
accommodate 60 students and is available only to PTDA members.

This is exactly the kind of training I was looking for when I was
a new hire, and could still benefit from it. To be able to use the
products in real applications is a great idea and offers a unique, more
effective learning experience than traditional training styles. I
think this type of training would take our customer service to the next
level because we would have hands-on product and trouble shooting
experience to speak from as well as more comprehensive
understanding of the products we sell.
