PTDA Executive Development Conference a Huge Success

Chicago, Ill. -- April 20, 2007 -- The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) held its first ever Executive Development Conference March 1-2, 2007 at the Woodlands Conference Center & Resort, The Woodlands, Texas.  The conference proved to be an outstanding opportunity for the next generation of leaders in the power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry.

Attendance at the conference far surpassed expectations with close to 50 distributor and manufacturer executives taking part in the two-day event.  Designed specifically for regional managers, sales managers, vendor relations specialists and other rising stars, the program offered attendees an opportunity to reinvigorate and improve their leadership skills, learn from industry leaders and begin to build their networks of peers.

"I have been to many similar seminars conducted by other organizations and PTDA’s Executive Development Conference was by far the best.  The speakers held my attention, it was hands-on, never boring, and I was able to bring back valuable information I can implement tomorrow," said Jerry Bruening, director strategic sales, Loctite Industrial Group, Henkel Corporation (Rocky Hill, Conn.).

Executive Development Highlights:

--Independent power transmission distributor Dave LaRue of Baldwin Supply facilitated a dynamic workshop on developing a personal leadership advantage and building highly-effective leadership skills. 
--Certified management consultant Peter Land led a seminar and training session on situational leadership. 
--Held in conjunction with PTDA’s annual winter Board of Directors, Manufacturer Council and committee meetings, attendees had the opportunity to network informally with nearly 100 of the association’s most active member volunteers
--Participants found the speakers and their content highly valuable.  Improved leadership skills, new methods for goal planning and team building ideas were cited as three of the top take-home concepts.

“Overall the conference was great. The venue was good and worked well.  All arrangements were seamless, well organized and executed,” said one attendee.
