About PTDA

Chicago, Ill. -- February 19, 2008 -- The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) will hold its seventh annual Canadian Conference on May 29-31, 2008.  Devoted to Canadian industry networking and trends, the Canadian Conference has quickly become a must-attend event for distributors and manufacturers in the power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry.  Top-level executives and mid-level managers attend the event to build better relationships, share information and identify best practices.

The PTDA 2008 Canadian Conference will be held at the Fairmont Château Whistler in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

Highlights of the 2008 program include:

  • Keynoter Michael Campbell, respected author and business analyst, will present an economic forecast analyzing domestic and global leading indicators that affect Canadian markets.
  • Representatives of the mining, energy and food/beverage industries will present market briefings as well as a special presentation on the growth opportunities for motion control products within many industry segments.
  • A special presentation of Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” by Anne Parker, climate project volunteer.  Ms. Parker will explain the basics of global warming, look at the evidence of climate change around the world, explore anticipated changes, address how these changes will affect us and what we can do to mitigate them.
  • Formal and informal networking with key decision-makers in the Canadian PT/MC market.
  • Social events and an optional ski and golf outing.

The Canadian Conference is open to all PTDA members selling product in Canada—distributors and manufacturers—as well as non-members who qualify for membership.
