Motion Control Showcase
A new Motion Control Showcase was introduced at the 2006 Industry Summit and featured 24 motion control suppliers and live demonstrations of the latest hardware.  The showcase was targeted at distributors considering expanding into the motion control arena, looking for additional suppliers to support current offerings or interested in networking with other market players.

The showcase also included a panel of PTDA members discussing this growing niche and business opportunities.  Topics included market entry points; necessary factors for success, investment, requirements and inventory management guidelines; and building needed technical and project management capabilities through training, hiring and/or outsourcing.

Founded in 1960, the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) is the leading association for the industrial power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) distribution channel.  A U.S.-based trade association, PTDA represents 216 power transmission/motion control distributor firms with almost 3,500 locations throughout North America and 12 other countries, as well as 198 manufacturers that supply the PT/MC industry.
