Foundation Overview

Founded in 1982, the PTDA Foundation’s mission is to champion
education and research initiatives relevant to the power
transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry that enhance the knowledge
and/or professionalism and productivity of industry
stakeholders. As the charitable arm of the Power Transmission
Distributors Association, the Foundation has created and sponsored many
distinguished programs to:
Educate customers about the value provided by PT/MC
distributors. Develop industry-specific educational programs. Work with academia to develop a pool of qualified employment
candidates. Promote the PT/MC industry to potential employees. Help companies recruit and train qualified
candidates. Educate industry participants about industry trends.
Incorporated as a distinct entity from PTDA, the Foundation is a
not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation whose operations are
funded entirely by tax-deductible contributions from industry
corporations and individuals. Unlike PTDA, which serves both its
members and the PT/MC industry, the Foundation is dedicated to serving
the industry as a whole.
Under its current strategic plan, the Foundation is focusing its
resources on one strategic mission: Meet the need for a skilled
industrial distribution workforce for today and tomorrow. Since
2000, the Foundation has focused on a major workforce development
initiative to accomplish this goal: Industrial Careers
Pathway® (ICP). Through ICP, the Foundation is
spearheading an alliance of industry associations dedicated to building
awareness of career opportunities in the industrial distribution sector
of the economy.

Foundation is once again organizing the golf outing at the 2012 PTDA
Industry Summit as a fundraiser – offering special opportunities

will go directly to the Foundation and Industrial Careers
Pathway®.
